Today


Today is a different day
The breeze is soft, the tender leaves;
The ambience is mesmerising, the greenery is marvellous
The sweet chirping of birds....
It feels as if there is Eternal  Paradise on Earth
Sinking me with philosophic nostalgia...


At times the monotonous cry of a bird ,
Makes me feel claustrophobic and sad.
At the same time God's gifted Nature
Makes me immensely happy and free;
Nature gives me freedom .
In this prime time only one heavenly word utters in my mouth,
Music, Music and again I say Music....
Music captures and attracts every human mind 
Touches and soothens the soul;
The key part of our life having no dusk and dawn 
It remains and inhibits like our heart.

    Sense of Belongingness within ourselves is quite natural in this elixir of life; as we tend to cling on to our chosen one's.  That ray of hope drives us to move ahead in life. The very fact that we all are ultimately 'self 'as we come alone and depart alone makes us harder to think as we are living in this temporal illusory world that projects our very situational phases .  It's like a humane maze...Interdependence within dependence .  Paradoxically speaking, we tend to be independent whereas in actuality we can never be fully independent in this world as God's creation was humans ,not robots.  We have to cling on . Nostalgia

I miss you every single day I miss you every single moment Without you my life's incomplete. The breaking dawn welcomes a new day Sunshine in the morning gives an eternal bliss. The cold breeze, the sweet chirping of birds somehow pleases my inner soul. Far away I see the clock tower, the old mystic abbeys It is reminiscent of my good old happy-go-lucky school days Today after twenty long years, I pass through the streets of  Little Valley High School, I still hear the alarm bell, The hymns, chants, incantation and prayers in Church hall; The cacophony of the students makes me feel nostalgic... I am amazed to see the adjacent alley which was once ours' hidden secret rendezvous Memory never fades never transforms It  remains afresh and new in our mind's gallery.                                                  Arunita Lahiry
